Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened and compressed inside your browser. FacilDocs never receives it, so you can use it with personal documents such as payslips, contracts or a scanned ID.
Why can't I select the text after compressing?
To cut the size a lot, each page is saved as an image. The document looks and prints the same, but the text is no longer selectable. If you need to copy text, keep the original too.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on the document. Scanned PDFs or PDFs with photos usually shrink by 60% to 90%. Text-only PDFs are already small; in that case the tool tells you to use the original.
I can't get under the size they ask for. What can I do?
Choose Smallest. If it still doesn't fit, split the document into parts or check whether the application accepts several files.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Documents with many pages may take a little longer, because your phone does all the work.
